CARREER PROFILE- GLORIA O. ANETOR, PhD, MPH, RN, MHPE (UK), FSEHN, FRSPH (UK)
Professor Gloria Anetor had her initial basic professional education and training in nursing and worked as a nurse for many years, rising to the rank of Assistant Director of Nursing (ADN) at the University College Hospital (UCH) Ibadan. She later studied Health Education at the University of Ibadan where she graduated with a First-class degree. She then went on to the master’s programme, again, graduating at the top of her class, paving way for a PhD in Health Education, with focus on public health education and nutrition.
She then naturally, had a career change to an academic career, joining the department of community health at the National Open University of Nigeria (NOUN). Prof Gloria Anetor later obtained a Master of Public Health (MPH) from the University of Maine, USA and founded the Public Health Science Department at NOUN, Head of Unit, Head of Department, Deputy Dean of the Faculty of Health Sciences. She rose through the ranks to become a Professor of Public Health Education.
Professor Anetor was later reassigned as the Director of the Centre of Excellence in Migration and Global Studies (CEMGS), where she is currently serving a second term as Director. She is the Managing Editor of the journal published by the centre, International Journal of Migration and Global Studies (IJMGS). She is passionate about academics and scholarship.
Prof Gloria Anetor has travelled widely making presentations in national and international conferences.
